Greetings!
My name is Diamonds Nicole Watson, Founder, CEO, Author, and Creative Director of DNWatsonBooks.
My family and I relocated from Detroit, Michigan, to Riverdale, Georgia, in 2001. Growing up, I was often the sister in the background—the tomboy, the quiet one who preferred retreating to a room with a good book. There were times when I felt misunderstood and struggled to see in myself what others might have overlooked. Fortunately, reading and writing gave me a place where my imagination could run free and my voice could find its way onto the page.
As I grew older, that love for storytelling evolved alongside two other important parts of my life: motherhood and aviation. Both opened new doors, broadened my perspective, and introduced me to experiences that continue to influence the woman and writer I am today.
My journey didn't begin with formal schooling, a publishing deal, or a carefully laid-out plan. It began with a notebook, a little downtime between flights, and a passion for creating stories.
With nearly eight years of flight attendant experience, I had the opportunity to travel, embrace different cultures, and meet people from all walks of life. Somewhere between destinations, I began filling my notebook with short stories—and before long, my fellow crew members started taking notice. “Diamonds, what are you writing?”
“Just some short stories,” I'd reply.
“That sounds cool. Can I read one?”
“Sure! I'll type it up tonight, and you can read it tomorrow.”
And that's exactly what I'd do. The next day, they'd be waiting eagerly to read my work, and they always came back wanting more. Eventually, at the beginning of a trip, I'd be introduced to the crew with, “Everybody, this is Diamonds. She writes the spicy stories. What you got for us today, Diamonds?”
“You know I have something,” I'd reply—and I always did!
Before long, I was handing over my entire laptop so crew members could read my stories and share their thoughts. Sometimes, I wouldn't get it back until we'd finished for the day! I also encountered hundreds of similar moments with passengers curious about what I was writing.
Looking back, those experiences were more than entertaining moments in the skies. They were my first glimpses of an audience that genuinely wanted to hear my stories. Their enthusiasm encouraged me to keep writing, keep learning, and keep creating.
In 2020, while reading Nora Roberts' Finding the Dream on a flight home, I had a realization that changed the way I saw my future: I can do this, too. That simple thought planted a seed. I began to see storytelling not just as something I loved, but as something I could pursue and build into a career of my own.
By the age of thirty, I had self-published two novels and introduced hundreds of readers to worlds born from my imagination. What started as a way to pass the time had become something much bigger: a creative pursuit, an entrepreneurial journey, and a brand I was proud to call my own.
Today, I'm embracing my passions for aviation, storytelling, and entrepreneurship. Through DNWatsonBooks, I create contemporary romance filled with steamy chemistry, unforgettable characters, complicated relationships, and the beautiful, sometimes messy realities of love.
Whether my stories explore passion, heartbreak, healing, friendship, or second chances, my goal is to make readers laugh, cry, fall in love, and become so invested in the characters that they feel like people they've known for years.
My vision is to grow as an author, pursue traditional publishing opportunities, create unforgettable literary escapes, and one day bring my characters and their worlds to the big screen.
Until then, I'll keep putting my imagination to work, creating stories that take readers somewhere new while leaving them with something meaningful to carry long after the final page.
